Where it gets used. A boutique marks a sale line in a Facebook shop description so the offer catches the eye without any formatting tools. A gaming clan uses circled letters for a tag so the team is identifiable in a scoreboard list. A study-notes account on Instagram numbers its carousel slides with circled digits. A community moderator titles a pinned announcement in bubble letters so it visually separates from ordinary posts. Someone naming a group chat gives it circled initials so it stands out in a crowded message list. A tutor labelling exercise sections in a shared document uses circled digits because the platform strips ordinary list formatting. A café adds a circled letter beside each menu item in an Instagram caption so followers can order by reference. Keep it to a word or two. Bubble text is genuinely harder to read at small sizes than plain letters, because the circles crowd each other and the strokes inside them are thin, so a whole sentence in circled letters is a wall nobody parses. Two limitations to know. Coverage gaps mean punctuation and unusual symbols come through as normal characters, which can look inconsistent mid-phrase — check your exact string rather than assuming. And screen readers often announce these codepoints by their formal Unicode names, such as circled latin small letter s, or skip them, so a visually impaired visitor gets nothing useful from a bubble-text bio; keep prices, dates and links in plain characters.
