How to Use UPI Payment QR Code Generator

1

Enter Your UPI ID and Name

Type your UPI ID such as yourname@okhdfcbank and the payee name that should appear on the payer's screen. The tool validates the UPI ID format and URL-encodes the name so spaces and symbols never break the payment link.

2

Set the Amount (Optional)

Leave the amount open so the payer enters it, which suits shop counters, or turn off the toggle and type a fixed amount for invoices and tickets. You can also add an optional note and merchant code for reference on the payment screen.

3

Generate and Download

Click Generate to build the scan-to-pay QR code, then download it as a PNG to print on a poster or add to an invoice. Test the code with two or three UPI apps before printing a batch to confirm the payee name and amount pre-fill correctly.

Turn Your UPI ID Into a Scan-to-Pay QR Code

A UPI QR code lets anyone pay you by pointing their phone camera at a small square of black and white dots — no typing your UPI ID, no fumbling with account numbers, no waiting. This tool takes your UPI ID (also called a VPA, like yourname@okhdfcbank) and your name, and builds a standards-compliant payment QR that opens straight in Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, or any UPI app. You can leave the amount open so the payer types it, or lock in a fixed amount for a specific bill. There is no account, no fee, and no watermark, and the code you download works the same whether it is printed on a counter sticker or shown on a screen. Under the hood, the code is not magic — it is a precisely formatted deep link. UPI defines a URL scheme that starts with upi://pay and carries your details as parameters: pa is the payee address (your UPI ID), pn is the payee name, am is the amount, cu is the currency (INR), tn is an optional note, and mc is an optional merchant category code. This tool assembles that link, runs your name and note through URL encoding so spaces and symbols like the ampersand do not break the string, validates your UPI ID against the standard pattern of characters followed by an at-sign and a bank handle, and then renders the whole link into a QR grid with error correction. When someone scans it, their UPI app reads the parameters and pre-fills the payment screen with your name and, if you set one, the amount — all they do is confirm and enter their PIN. Here is a concrete example. Suppose your UPI ID is ravi@okhdfcbank, your name is Ravi Kumar, and you want a fixed 250 rupee code. The tool builds the link upi://pay?pa=ravi@okhdfcbank&pn=Ravi%20Kumar&am=250.00&cu=INR — notice the space in your name became %20 so the payload stays valid, and the amount was formatted to two decimals. Scan that with PhonePe and the app opens with Ravi Kumar as the payee and 250 already filled in. Now flip on the amount-optional toggle and the am parameter simply disappears from the link, producing upi://pay?pa=ravi@okhdfcbank&pn=Ravi%20Kumar&cu=INR — the exact style shops use so a customer can pay any amount they owe. The everyday uses are wide. A tea stall or kirana shop prints an open-amount code and tapes it beside the counter so customers pay without asking for a number. A freelancer or tutor pastes a fixed-amount code into an invoice so a client settles the exact fee in one tap. Event organizers put a code on a registration desk for entry fees or donations. A cloud kitchen adds a code to the delivery bag. In every case the code removes the slow, error-prone step of reading out or typing a UPI ID, which is where wrong-number transfers usually happen. Because the code is static, it never expires and keeps working as long as your UPI ID is active. A few practical tips keep payments smooth. Print at a decent size — at least about 3 to 4 cm square for a counter, larger for a wall poster — and always leave the white margin around the code so cameras lock on quickly. Keep strong contrast with a dark code on a light background, and show your UPI ID as plain text underneath so a customer can pay manually if a scan fails. Test the finished code with two or three different UPI apps before printing a batch, and confirm the payee name shows correctly. One honest note on security and limits: this tool only builds the payment intent link; it does not process, verify, or settle money, and it cannot raise your bank's per-transaction UPI limit. Anyone can read a public code, so it is safe to display your receiving UPI ID but never encode a PIN or password. Everything here runs entirely in your browser — your UPI ID is used to draw the QR locally and is never uploaded or stored anywhere.

Examples: UPI Payment QR Code Generator

Input

UPI ID ravi@okhdfcbank, name Ravi Kumar, amount 250

Result

A QR encoding upi://pay?pa=ravi@okhdfcbank&pn=Ravi%20Kumar&am=250.00&cu=INR that pre-fills 250 in the payer's app.

The name is URL-encoded (space to %20) and the amount is formatted to two decimals per the UPI spec.

Input

UPI ID shop@ybl, name Chai Point, amount-optional toggle ON

Result

A QR encoding upi://pay?pa=shop@ybl&pn=Chai%20Point&cu=INR that lets the customer enter any amount.

With the toggle on, the am parameter is omitted so the payer types the amount — the standard open shop QR.
