Tap Start to begin timing from zero. The display counts up in minutes, seconds, and hundredths of a second. The count is drawn from your device clock, so it stays accurate even during a long session.
Tap Lap while the clock runs to capture a split without stopping. Each entry shows the interval since your last tap alongside the running total. Tap Stop when you want to pause the clock and preserve the accumulated time.
Tap Reset to clear the elapsed time and every recorded lap so you can start fresh. Because this wipes your laps, jot down any splits you want to keep first. Starting again after a Stop instead resumes from where you paused.
The Helperzy Stopwatch is a count-up timer for workouts, cooking, study sprints, science experiments, or timing laps on a track. It starts at zero and climbs with a resolution of one hundredth of a second, giving you readings sharp enough for interval training without asking you to install anything. The display is deliberately large, showing minutes, seconds, and centiseconds, and the Start, Lap, Stop, and Reset buttons are sized for thumbs so you can drive the whole thing from a phone propped on a bench or kitchen counter. Most people reach for a stopwatch expecting it to be trivial, then discover that the useful part is not the running clock at all but the list of laps it builds underneath. What keeps it honest is the way it measures time. Instead of counting how many times a loop has run, the stopwatch records the exact clock time the moment you press Start and, on every screen refresh, subtracts that from the current clock time. In words, the elapsed time equals now minus the start time, plus any time already banked from earlier runs. Because the answer always comes from the device's real clock, brief moments when the browser is busy do not cause the count to drift or fall behind over a long session. Pressing Stop freezes and stores the accumulated total; pressing Start again resumes from exactly that point rather than restarting. Laps work the same way: each tap stores the cumulative reading, and the split for that lap is simply the new total minus the previous stored total, which is why lap one's split and its total are always the same number. Imagine you are running 400-metre repeats. You press Start, finish the first lap and tap Lap at 1:32.40, then tap it again at the end of the second lap when the total reads 3:07.10. The tool shows the running total of 3:07.10 and, by subtracting the previous lap mark, a split of 1:34.70 for that second lap. Seeing 1:32.40 followed by 1:34.70 tells you at a glance that you slowed by 2.30 seconds without ever stopping the clock. Add a third lap ending at 4:44.90 and the split works out to 1:37.80, confirming a steady fade rather than a one-off bad lap — the kind of pattern that tells a coach to shorten the set. That lap behaviour makes the stopwatch useful well beyond the track. A swimming coach standing at the pool edge taps Lap at each 50-metre wall to see whether a swimmer's second half is holding up. A chemistry teacher times how long a reaction takes to change colour across six student benches, tapping Lap as each group reports. A parent timing a child's multiplication drill records each round to show progress over a week. Someone doing a 20-minute HIIT circuit of five stations taps Lap at every changeover, ending with five splits that show exactly which exercise ate the most time. Because the split and the cumulative total sit side by side, you can compare intervals during the activity instead of doing arithmetic afterward. A couple of practical notes. The stopwatch measures real elapsed time, so keep the tab open for the session to continue; leaving the page ends it and clears the internal timer so nothing runs in the background wasting battery. Reset wipes both the time and every recorded lap, so copy anything you want to keep first, because there is no undo. All timing happens locally in your browser, nothing is uploaded or stored, and the layout adapts to light or dark mode and to phones, tablets, and desktops alike.
Elapsed time = (current clock time − start time) + previously banked time current clock time = the device clock reading at this screen refresh start time = the device clock reading captured when you pressed Start previously banked time = total accumulated before the last Stop (0 on a fresh run) Split = current total − previous lap total previous lap total = the cumulative time recorded at your last Lap tap (0 for lap 1)
Input
Lap 1 at 1:32.40, Lap 2 when total reads 3:07.10
Result
Lap 2 split = 1:34.70
3:07.10 − 1:32.40 = 1:34.70, so the second lap was 2.30s slower.
Input
Lap 3 tapped when the total reads 4:44.90
Result
Lap 3 split = 1:37.80
4:44.90 − 3:07.10 = 1:37.80, a further 3.10s slower than lap 2 — a steady fade.
The stopwatch updates every 10 milliseconds and calculates elapsed time from your device's clock rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate even during long sessions. Display resolution is one hundredth of a second, which is precise enough for workouts, cooking, study timing, and casual sports use.
